Summer Appeal - Woody

Chelmsford Cats Protection is fundraising for Cats Protection (justgiving.com)
With your donation we can help more cats like Woody.
Handsome Woody was reported to us as a stray or possible abandonment after the owners moved away.
He was getting into mischief with other cats in the area which often resulted in fighting. A trap was needed to catch him as he had become very wary of people as it was possible he had been straying for over a year.
Once in our care, we found his previous owner through social media who happily signed Woody over to be rehomed by us.
Woody was very nervous to start with and preferred to move away from anyone who entered his pen. He was not keen on seeing the vet and needed sedation so they could do a full health check. Woody needed to be neutered and required dental treatment. He was already missing 5 teeth and needed a further 8 teeth removed.
Woody had tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) which meant it took longer for his mouth to heal and made him prone to infection.
Gradually, Woody started to become more and more confident around the staff and soon worked out when was feeding time. He would sit by the door calling for the next meal. He then started to enjoy a brush and a cuddle just in time for the vets to sign him off “Fit To Home”.
Woody has now found a lovely home with a gentleman who was looking for some company, he is doing very well in his new home.
