What we do in Brackley, Banbury, Bicester or Kidlington

What we do at Cherwell Cats Protection

Welcome to the Cherwell branch of Cats Protection, the national cat welfare charity’s regional rescue serving the Oxfordshire towns of Bicester, Banbury, Brackley and Kidlington. Formed in 2006, Cherwell Cats Protection is operated by a small group of dedicated volunteers, supported by local fundraising and donations from generous members of the public locally and from around the World.

Our team of volunteers aim to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home as many of the many lost, unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens in the Cherwell Valley as possible. To accomplish this we undertake vital tasks such as trapping, fostering and socialising cats, as well as arranging for veterinary treatments for animals in our care and conducting home visits for prospective adopters.

Neuter your cat in Banbury, Bicester, Brackley and Kidlington

We operate a Neutering Voucher for qualifying residents in the Cherwell area, in collaboration with local veterinary practices. Neutering is primarily beneficial to the individual animal’s health, but also has additional benefits of reducing the emergence of feral cat colonies in the area, as well as reducing the spread of feral-borne illness throughout the local domestic cat population.

We advise Oxfordshire’s residents on a range of feline welfare issues locally, and offer advice to new cat-owners and experienced owners alike as to how best to care for their pet and generally improve the quality of their pet’s life. Cherwell CP recommends that cat owners always consult a qualified veterinarian when seeking medical advice concerning their pet.
