Message from Byron
After a lovely summer, with lots of cat sunbathing, we are now spending most of our time indoors. The winter quilt is on the bed making it extra cosy and the food bowls are being kept topped up. Hopefully they will soon be full of turkey. Dad likes to put the gas fire on at the slightest hint of chilliness whereas Mum’s attitude is that he should put on an extra jumper. We are with Dad on this one! We keep being promised a wood burning stove. In fact, I think I’ll add it to my Christmas list.
Even though the year is drawing to a close our activities continue. Fostering is a seven day a week commitment but the fosterers wouldn’t have it any other way. Members of the team are still issuing neutering vouchers, doing home visits, answering calls and dealing with a busy caseload regarding strays and welfare issues.
If you would like to support us this Christmas, there are many ideas on our ‘Support Us’ page and right at the bottom of the page there are ‘Other Ways to Support Us’. The current cats in our care (Blake, Boe, Colin, Keira, Laura, Lucy, Millie, Sabrina and Solomon) would be very grateful. A few ideas include:
Amazon Wishlist – lots of lovely things to buy for our foster cats.
Justgiving – make a donation to help us provide veterinary care for our foster cats.
Vale Lottery – the chance to win and help good causes at the same time.
Easyfundraising – raise funds while you shop online at no extra cost.
We don’t have final figures yet but know that we have helped an amazing number of cats in 2018 and we could not have done that without our team of dedicated volunteers and our supporters. So a big thank you to all of you.
I’m just off for a pre-Christmas snooze but before I go I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2019.
Until next time.
