Message from Byron
When I started dictating this to Mum, I was lying in a patch of sunlight warming my fur, thinking about spring and planning a wander round the garden. Now it is raining and I am glad that I can stretch out in front of a warm fire. Mum you need to bring in some more logs!
The Chiltern Branch is as busy as ever looking after cats and kittens in our area, issuing neutering vouchers and giving help and support where we can. Members of the Welfare and Feral Team are often called out to search for cats in unusual locations. Last year it was a tangle of ivy that resembled a ‘bird’s nest’ and our volunteer had to clamber on top of a shipping container to rescue mum and kittens. Last week it was an abandoned rabbit warren. Where next?
With less restrictions, we are planning to get back to face to face fundraising this year and have just booked our first stall at the Haddenham Fete on Saturday 11th June. You can read about the Fete here: Haddenham.net - Village Fete Returns!
We are also looking forward to ‘Craft for Cats’, which is a virtual craft event on 2nd April, that raises money for Cats Protection and we would love you to take part and nominate our branch. This time the craft is embroidery. You can try your hand at needlework and create your own moggie masterpiece. Mum admits that she is not a natural crafter (she has a number of half-finished projects around the house) but she enjoys learning new skills and having a go. You can sign up or find out more here Craft for Cats | Cats Protection
We are always looking for new volunteers to join us. There really is something for everyone from waiting for cats to pop out of rabbit holes to fostering cats in your spare room to organising a bottle tombola for a village fete. Please email email@example.com to find out more.
Until next time.
