Busy, busy autumn
09 November 2019
IF you are looking to adopt a cat or kitten and have been checking out our 'Cats available for rehoming' page, you might be forgiven for thinking that the Forth Valley Adoption Centre at Fishcross has lots of empty pens. But nothing could be further from the truth! In fact we are currently full to capacity.
Several pens are taken up with newly admitted cats who are settling in and waiting to be vet checked. Once that has been completed they will be up for adoption. So keep your eye on the website and on our Facebook page.
We also have several pens occupied by former strays who are recovering from illness/injuries and therefore not up for adoption yet.
Recently CP staff and volunteers have been working to help a colony of feral cats and kittens in the local area and several of these tiny kittens are now in the shelter. These kittens are young enough to be socialised and ultimately rehomed.
Meanwhile. the older feral cats have been trapped, neutered and returned to the site where they are being fed regularly by local people.
We also have several kittens born outside in the cold who are settling into life in the centre.
However, it will be some weeks before any of these kittens are available for adoption.
And with winter just around the corner we are working to get stray cats in off the streets and into the centre where they can be warm and well fed.
Please feel free to visit us during normal opening hours which are Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12.30-3.30pm each day.
Our adoption fee is still £60 and all our cats come neutered and microchipped and with all innoculations up to date.
Remember keep watching our website and if you see a cat and would like to meet him or her just use the form in the Contact Us section to express your interest. Or call us on 01259 720555.
