**HOT WEATHER ADVICE** Tips to protect your cat
21 August 2017
Now that the hot weather is here there are a number of steps you can take to help keep your cat safe in the heat.
Firstly, try to ensure that your cat has plenty of water to drink. Place bowls of water outside the home so that he can drink when he needs to.
Make sure that your cat has a shaded area to rest in if he's an outdoor cat. Cats are susceptible to heatstroke like any other mammal.
Try and keep your cat inside during the hottest part of the day if possible, from 11am-3pm. This is particularly important if your cat has white ears as they are prone to burning in the sun.
NEVER leave your cat inside a carrier in a hot car, even with the windows open. Temperatures can soar in a car in a short space of time.
