Why adopt from Cats Protection?
We always put the cat first - so please bear in mind that:
A
home visit
is required before any cat is rehomed.
If you are a tenant, your tenancy agreement must allow the new cat.
We will not rehome an
outdoor
cat near a busy road.
A single kitten will not be homed where it will be left alone for long periods during the day.
We must meet whoever will be the companion to the cat - we do not rehome cats as any kind of surprise present or over the Christmas period (Dec 18th to Jan 2nd inclusive).
You can have peace of mind that all our cats looking for their forever homes have been:
Checked for general medical and dental health by a vet (including teeth cleaning if necessary)
Treated for
fleas and worms
.
Vaccinated
against , Feline Leukemia, Feline Panleukopenia (FPV), Feline Herpesvirus (FHV), Feline Calicivirus (FCV) and Chlamydophila Felis (Vaccinations are either an initial course of two doses four weeks apart, or a single booster)
Microchipped
- if not already done prior to coming into our care.
Neutered
- if not already neuter prior to coming into our care and unless under 4 months old. In which case, you must commit to neutering them when they reach that age. You will be given a
Proof of Neutering
certificate. This must be completed by your vet when your kitten has been neutered and returned to us.
Insured for 4 weeks for any new conditions from the date of adoption, courtesy of
