2016 Show Report
24 March 2016
Saturday 12th March 2015 saw our 22nd annual Pet Cat Show, held in the village hall in Little Downham. We had a total of thirty two cats in competition, both pedigree and non-pedigree, and two cats on exhibition.
By the end of the day we had two handsome Best in Show winners. Shorthaired black boy Abbs (top on photo), the oldest cat in the show was our BIS Non-Pedigree Pet, and Merlin, a blue tabby shorthair boy (bottom on photo) was our best Pedigree Pet.
Despite being down on numbers in terms of cats in competition, we raised a total of twelve hundred pounds for the branch - the highest total ever. We also homed four cats on the day and a further five thanks to publicity from the show.
Big thank yous have to go to all the exhibitors who brought their wonderful cats, to Linda Hutchinson, our show manager for all her hard work, to the judges Ian Barber, Caroleen Falconer and Irene Roos, to the stewards Yvette Barber, Philippa Miller and Gina Orgee, to Sue Willows who did the table and provided the fabulous rosettes and to Derrick Meakin for the penning. Thanks also have to go to all the wonderful Volunteers who helped set up on the Friday night, and who gave their time on the day with the refreshments, the stalls and the cats who were up for homing.
Most of all, thank you to everyone who supported the show.
