Akio (18 month old boy) and Koji (9 month old girl) came into our care about two months ago and it is a real love story. They are up for adoption as a bonded pair. Akio had been wandering the streets for a while before Koji found him. From the day they found each other they have been inseparable, huddling together on cold nights, giving each other the courage to come out to be touched by the kind lady who fed them and worked hard to gain their confidence. Who ever adopts these two beautiful cats needs to realise they have experienced the worst and find it very hard to trust humans. But despite them loosing any trust in humans they have never shown any animosity to any person who has gone near them only a deep sense of mistrust. However, they trust each other completely, they have shared their life together they have shared their fears together which has led them to being very fond of each other. They are both very timid and wary of human contact. Akio, in particular has been living under a sofa almost the entire time in foster and is only just now starting to come out and interact with the fosterer, although after feeding he bolts back to the safety of the sofa. Koji has been the more accessible one and will sit quietly nearby, although will hide if approached. They have continued to make slow progress in their sociability, and with the right household with caring, understanding owners, they will eventually become very loving pets. So, we are looking for a quite household with no children or other pets, with experienced cat owners who are prepared to take both of them on, and give this pair the life they deserve. Someone who is willing to give them time to build trust with humans in their forever loving home. They are clean with their litter tray, have very good appetites and show no signs of any aggression. We like all family members to visit our cats. Anyone visiting will need to understand that these kitties are not going to rush out to meet you. It will be quietly sitting with the fosterer talking about them with the hope that food will entice them out. We are adopting these cats out now as we now know they can change and be sociable given time and patience. The rest of this journey needs to happen in their furever home where they will never have to leave again. They are health checked, fully vaccinated, chipped, neutered and they come with four weeks free Pet Plan insurance. The adoption fee for the pair is £200. Due to their shakey start with humans we are suggesting that they are kept in for longer than usual till you are confident that they are confident and trust you. Going forward we think they would like an in out life but we anticipate that as a future event not a soon event.
