Name: Otso

Location: Berkshire Cat Centre

Otso came in to Cats Protection after living as a stray for a long time as a senior boy. For years he was fending for himself in all weathers, having to find his own food and shelter. Unfortunately his hardships have left both his ears crumpled with scar tissue, although he can still hear absolutely fine. As he felt safer Otso would start purring and stick his head out so that people can make a fuss of him. He absolutely loves to have his chin and cheeks rubbed, and will roll around and show his belly. After this ordeal Otso was homed 5 years ago to a lovely owner and was very well cared for, but unfortunately the owner’s health issues meant they were unable to continue to look after him. Otso is just shy of his 19th birthday, and we would love to find him another home for him to celebrate this milestone on a cosy sofa being pampered. He does have a heart murmur, something that is quite common in cats. He also has slightly high blood pressure, which is being treated with 1/2 a tablet once a day to keep it in a normal range successfully. He had bloods taken and a blood pressure check recently with the vet, and was a superstar at having both of these done, happily sat with his arm out patiently. He does have some early kidney disease so is on a renal diet. Due to his advanced age he does have some arthritis, which the previous owner found monthly solensia injections worked well for him to ease this.
