Name: Roo

Location: Northern Ireland

We welcome applications from across Northern Ireland.

When volunteers from the Armagh volunteer community first found Roo, he was just a tiny 5-month-old kitten, alone, frightened, and struggling with a badly injured hind leg. Despite everything he’d been through, he greeted his rescuers with quiet trust and those big, soulful eyes that make your heart melt.

Our veterinary team did everything they could, but sadly Roo’s left hind leg was too damaged to save. The kindest option was amputation, giving him the chance to grow into a healthy, pain free young cat, and Roo has taken it all in his stride. He’s a little hero , steady, calm, and quietly determined.

Roo is a gentle wee soul, the sort of kitten who watches the world before stepping into it.
Because of his shy nature, he’ll thrive best in a home with older children who understand that he’ll need time, patience, and a peaceful settling-in period. Once he feels safe, his affectionate side shines through.

He can live with other pets, but he’ll need slow, thoughtful introductions and a home that isn’t too busy or crowded. Roo does best when life moves at a soft pace.

Now he’s ready for his next chapter, a loving home where he can grow in confidence, enjoy cosy naps, and discover that the world is a safe place after all.

If you have a calm home, a gentle heart, and room for one very special kitten, Roo would love to meet you.

An indoor only home or that with a catio would be ideal for Roo because of his disability.
