Name: Clementine

Location: Tyneside Cat Centre

Hello! I'm a little lady with a bit of a sad story to tell. I ended up in the shelter after my owner of 10 years passed away, and it has been a bit of a rough time for me. I was going a bit stir crazy in the shelter, but since moving into a foster home I've surprised everyone with how much happier I am! I am still adjusting but every day I get a bit more confident in my new surroundings. As a slightly older lady, I know what I like and don't like. And I won't hesitate to tell you when I don't like something. While I may not communicate like a typical cat, my tail always gives my true feelings away.

I'm a very quiet, calm, and independent cat. I like nothing more than to snooze on my radiator hammock while my fosterers carry on about their day. I don't make much noise at all, but I'm always there, just hanging out. Apart from when the humans go to sleep, because I'm very polite and make sure to stay out of the bedroom while they rest. I love being in the company of others but I'm not that big on cuddles. I prefer an occasional head pat, because sometimes I get overwhelmed by too much affection and have been known to act out. This can be frustrating for humans because I'm so cute and love to roll onto my back, daring them to try to touch my belly!

I have some digestive issues (evidence of pancreatitis and possibly IBD), but they are fully under control with my medication (inexpensive supplements which you just pop in my food, as well as steroids) and a special diet (Hills ZD), so you'd never know by my behaviour. My coat is so thick and healthy despite all this, I barely even shed! I do have a Grade 2 Heart Murmur which my carers can chat to you about.
Please do give me a second chance!
