What we do

Cats Protection was founded in 1927 and has grown to become the UK's leading feline welfare charity. We now help around 166,000 cats and kittens every year through our network of over 210 volunteer-run branches, 34 adoption centres

A Bit About Us -

The South East Kent Branch of Cats Protection is run entirely by cat-loving volunteers carrying out their roles from their own homes. All of our volunteers have their own individual role that plays in the branch. The branch covers the postcodes CT15, CT16, CT17, CT18, CT19, CT20, CT21, and TN25. If you are unsure if we cover your area then don't hesitate to drop us an email at adoption@southeastkent.cats.org.uk .

Our charity shop -

We have a shop located at 139 Hythe High Street, Hythe, Kent, CT21 5JL. We regularly receive donations of quality goods, so that we always have a wide and interesting selection at affordable prices as well as having Cats Protection new goods. If you would like to know more about the Folkestone and Hythe Branch, please feel free to drop us an email teamleader@southeastkent.cats.org.uk .

Adopting Cats -

We do not have a centre where all our cats are kept, instead they are looked after by volunteer fosterers in luxury pens, or in their homes kept entirely separate from their own pets. Before homing, all our cats will have been health checked, vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. There is an adoption fee of which you can find by clicking here to help with some of the cost incurred. All cats come with 4 weeks free insurance through Petplan. The cats in our care that are ready for adoption are posted on our website can be found here. If you are interested in adopting any of the cats in our care please use the online form within the cats profile or give us a call on 0345 260 1253

Lost and Found Cats -

We also operate a lost and found reporting service and use our social media to advertise any lost and found cats. If you have lost a cat or found a cat please contact with any details you may have lostandfound@southeastkent.cats.org.uk .

Rehoming Cats -

All relinquished cats go into a comfortable, heated admissions pen for health checks, vaccinations and microchipping before being transferred to an indoor foster home whilst we find them a permanent home. If you need to rehome your cat please telephone 0345 260 1253 to leave a message.
