Channel 5 Help the Animals 2019

02 December 2019
Channel 5 Help the Animals 2019 We were disappointed to see that Cats Protection has not been included in the forthcoming Channel 5 Help the Animals 2019 appeal. Last year they raised over £800,000 towards funding and awareness of UK animal welfare charities. The charities involved are RSPCA, Blue Cross, Donkey Sanctuary and Wildlife Aid Foundation but alas no mention of Cats Protection.

The branch has queried this with CP's head office and received this reply:
"Yes, we’re very much aware of the show and we applied to be one of the featured charities. Unfortunately the programme makers opted to go with multi-species charities as the most efficient way of gathering their different animal stories, with The Donkey Sanctuary being the exception as they offered unique filming opportunities with donkeys that the other charities couldn’t. We’re disappointed that we weren’t chosen but we are in touch with Channel Five and continue to offer our help with future animal programmes."

Naturally we would not discourage anyone supporting the charities to be featured, however, it is a shame that Cats Protection has missed out. Perhaps with some lobbying from CP supporters Channel 5 will agree to include the charity next time.

In the meantime, if you would like to support your local Framlingham and Saxmundham branch we would be delighted to hear from you. You could make a donation of money by clicking here or why not send a gift via our Amazon Whishlist page. Thank you.
