Rehoming a rescue cat

By adopting a rescue cat from Cats Protection you will be offering a second chance to a cat who may have been abandoned, mistreated, or whose family have needed to give them up.

We take an enormous amount of care to find the best new home for each cat and kitten. This could include visiting you at home, to discuss any questions that you may have about your chosen cat and to check that you can offer the right environment for them.

All of the cats under our care are extremely well looked after. We neuter all cats over four months old and microchip them. Each cat rehomed by the branch has at least two full health vet checks, is fully vaccinated against flu, enteritis and feline leukaemia and is treated for the removal of fleas and worms. Cats who come in as strays who are ill and causing concern are blood tested.

To care for each cat, and arrange the above health checks and procedures, we spend an average of £150. We charge an adoption fee to cover a portion of these costs. The fee is £60 for a cat and £70 for a kitten. Any additional contribution is always gratefully received. You will receive four week's worth of free pet insurance when your new cat arrives with you.
