Christmas Lights Display

01 December 2019
Christmas Lights Display
Who remembers the famous Manning Close Christmas Lights Display? Well this year it’s back!! And the chosen charity of the organisers is this branch of Cats Protection.

Here’s a little bit from Paul and Nikki, who have organised the display:

“Not too sure what to say to accompany the poster - Nikki and I have had a break of 7 years and stood back from the spotlight. It's true to say the display gained national and international news with the display being featured in the national newspapers as well as television.

Nikki and I decided last year we were going to bring the nationally and internationally renowned Christmas Lights Display back for 2019 after a break of seven years. Sadly we didn't have the time or resources to pull off a fully animated to music display, but it will still be spectacular and has a winter wonderland theme.

The reason we're supporting CP is because we think the work the CP do is nothing short of amazing.

We lost our little girl Lula to the road in 2017 and vowed we'd never have pussycats again, the loss was just too great, and if the truth be told we are still not over the loss of our little girl.

Fast forward a year since her death, almost to the day, another little girl appeared in our garage along with her feral mother. Of course we knew immediately that they would become part of our family. We named the kitten Robyn because of the red in her beautiful black coat. CP helped trap and neuter them and named mum cat Tilly. Shortly afterwards along came the father Fluff. So we have the whole package, mother, father and daughter.

Nikki and I often say it's Lula showing them a guiding hand. Deep down we know she's still here with us.”
