Marathon Runner

02 June 2018
Marathon Runner

Three years ago I had decided I would like to complete a full distance iron man. During the start of my training in 2016 my health seriously hit me hard (multiple blood clots in my lungs) and my ambition was in tatters. That's it I thought. But in 2017 I improved beyond all expectation and in January 2018 I entered the Full Outlaw triathlon in Nottingham. I am so excited.

It's only 8 weeks till my iron man triathlon. Training is going well despite health issues. (Unpleasant side effects from my medication sap my energy) did my 2nd open water swim of the year today. Enjoying the new wet suit and met some new friends. Loving the super weather, 2 more training marathons to go plus one more heck of a long bike ride. On the day I will be swimming 2.4 miles, cycling 112 miles then running 26.2 miles. Hopefully I'll complete it all within 14 hours. We start at 6am! I admit it is not just bonkers, nuts and crazy but all three and then some!

All for cats protection who I have volunteered for 8 years now and still loving it.

I have already completed 4 half distance triathlons and 68 marathons including ultras of up to 45 miles! And I still support my local parkrun every Saturday.
