12 January 2019
Isla came into our care in December 2017 with housemate Emmie. Around 5 years old, neither cat had been spayed and it was clear there was no bond between the cats so they were homed separately. Going home with Ed and Maria, Isla was the first adoption of January of 2018 for Gosport CP.
Fast forward to January 2019 and Ed & Maria say Isla “is the most wonderful, spoilt happy cat we think there ever could be!! Within hours she was on our lap, and 1 year on this has become a daily habit. She dribbles and purrs so much and if we stop fussing her, she’ll head-but us to remind us who’s really in charge!!
There have been some minor health issues this year, but she’s been treated very well and diagnosed with multiple allergies (most severe are fish, resulting in surface sores around her ears from scratching) and since September when the results of skin biopsies and bloods tests came back, she’s been fully healthy…Luckily we have a Petplan “insured for life” policy so all the expenses were covered. We’d recommend Petplan to anyone!...
We absolutely adore her and we think (hope!) she feels the same. She seeks us out for company all the time and loves having her own outdoor world, though she’s never far away and comes when called. We are so pleased to have given her a new start and she obviously appreciates the love she receive from us and our families. She’s changed our lives as we have hers.”
What Isla’s first year at home shows is how much happiness adoption brings – to cats and people – but it also highlight’s how important pet insurance can be. Let’s leave the last word to Ed and Maria “She is such a character, we can’t imagine how she could be more perfect for us.”
