Microchipping news
In an announcement made earlier to the BBC on 12/05/21, the government has confirmed that microchipping pet cats will become compulsory under their new animal welfare bill. A big thank you to everyone who has signed petitions or emailed their MP requesting compulsory microchipping for cats, and helped this come about.

A date by which owned cats must be microchipped has not yet been announced, but it may be worthwhile enquiring about getting your cat chipped at their next vet visit if this hasn't been done already.

The interview with Environment Secretary George Eustice can be seen here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-57068182
