Rainbows, Brownies & Cats Protection
Leader Debbie Hobbs invited Gosport Cats Protection to visit the 5th Forton Brownies and Leesland Rainbow Unit on 24/06/19 to talk about the work the charity does in the local area. The Brownies and Rainbows meet on a Monday night and are currently working towards their Charities Interest Badge.

The Brownies and Rainbows heard from CP volunteer Anna Brown how the charity looks after and finds new homes for cats in Cats Protection care. Anna also explained about microchips, what they are and their importance, and each of the Rainbows and Brownies took it in turn to use a microchip scanner to check the toy cats we brought with us to see if they had a microchip. There were two different scanners to try and the girls found the microchip in both toy cats. The Brownies and Rainbows had lots of questions to ask Anna and CP co-ordinator Chris Scott-Reid.

Debbie and her helpers had asked the Brownies and Rainbows to bring in some cat food, biscuits, pouches or toys and the donations filled several bags which will be a great help for the cats in care.

All the Brownies and Rainbows were given a CP goody bag including a CP badge, cat mask and puzzle book. The Rainbows were very quick to put their cat masks on.

Our thanks to Debbie, helpers, Brownies and Rainbows for welcoming CP to the unit and for all the donations.
