Once we have your details and requirements, we will contact you to discuss the next stage, normally within 24 hours, so if you don't hear from us please check your spam email folder. 

We may also have other cats or kittens that are not quite ready for adoption, so even if you don’t see a suitable cat, please get in touch so that we can tell you what might be available soon, and we'll put your details on our waiting list. The cats shown are in approximate order of coming into our care.  The cats that have been waiting the longest time for a forever home are shown first, so if they look suitable for you, please spare them some thought.

All cats are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, vet-checked, and have been treated for fleas and worms. We will also pay for kittens adopted from us to be neutered when they are old enough. All we ask for is an adoption fee of £100 per cat (or £120 per kitten) which helps towards the costs of looking after the cats in our care, and finding them homes so that more cats can be cared for. 

We do not have a central adoption centre – all cats available for adoption are kept at private addresses by volunteer fosterers. 

Priority is given to adopters within the High Wycombe and South Bucks catchment area (HP6 to HP15 and SL7 to SL9). If you live outside this catchment area but still want to adopt one of the cats shown, please contact us or apply anyway, as sometimes we may still be able to help.

If you have lost your cat:

Don’t panic! Cats can disappear for days at a time and return with no trouble.

Look in…

• all rooms, cupboards, boxes and household appliances, eg washing machines
• gardens and hedges – he may be hurt, frightened and hiding nearby. Keep calling him, particularly at dawn/dusk/night when it’s quiet. Put out a bowl of water and some tasty smelly food
• sheds and garages
• vehicles

Inform…

• Facebook groups such as ‘Lost and Found Pets in High Wycombe and Surrounding Areas’, ‘Harveys Army South’, ‘Lost and Found Pets UK’
• your microchip company (and make sure your registered contact details are up to date)
• local veterinary practices
• neighbours, using leaflets – or even better, talk to them directly to ensure they check garages etc – or better still, ask if you can check there yourself (pay particular attention where neighbours are away, as cats can get locked in by accident)
• us and other local cat charities
• as many 'lost pet' websites that you can find
• the cleansing department of your local council
• your postman, milkman and newspaper delivery person
  

Advertise…

• posters on trees, distribute leaflets to shops, post office, garages.
• in local schools, newspapers, radio
• on local noticeboards, including a recent photograph of your missing cat
• offer a reward

Finally…

• the earlier you report your cat is missing, the more likely it is that it will be found

• when your cat does return, DO inform any organisations who have been asked to look for it
• have your cat microchipped - it will soon be a legal requirement!

If you have found a cat:

• Only feed the cat if it is thin and starving
• Have a read of this guide
• See if it looks like any on the 'lost cat' places above (eg Facebook)
• Knock on the doors of houses nearby to see if anybody knows who might own the cat, and revisit any that don't answer as owners may be on holiday
• Take the cat to a vet who will check for a microchip (free of charge), and you can ask if anyone has reported a similar cat missing
• Put a paper collar on the cat - try this a few times if the collar comes off
• Produce some 'cat found' leaflets to be distributed in the area it was found
• Contact us and other local cat rescues, just in case anybody reports their cat as missing to us

Doing these things is often very successful in reuniting a cat with its owners, and it is important that this advice is followed before a cat is taken into charity care.

If you find a deceased cat and have been unable to locate the owner, please take the cat to the nearest vet, who will scan it for a microchip and contact the owner.  If no owner is found they will keep the cat for a period of time in case an owner comes forward.
