What we do

Cats Protection Lanarkshire Branch is run by unpaid volunteers.  Our branch uses funds raised locally by our amazing volunteers and supporters to care for the cats we rescue and rehome.  Details of cats needing a home can be found in the Adopt a cat section of the website.

We cover postcode areas ML1, ML2, ML3, ML4, ML5, ML6, ML7, ML8, ML9, ML10, ML11, G74, G75.

Our address is: P.O.Box 19080, ML1 9DX.

We undertake home visits for each cat and ask an adoption fee of £60 per cat.  All our cats in care are given  a minimum of 1 vaccination, microchip, flea and worm treatment. We blood test every adult cat and the mum of our kittens to check for FIV and FELV.  FIV is a problem in many areas of Lanarkshire therefore we like to ensure that you can adopt with confidence. We neuter all cats 5 months of age and over and ensure the cat and kittens receive any veterinary treatment that they require whilst in branch care.

Cats Protection also provides

information on cat care

which is helpful for all cat owners and includes guidance about neutering, vaccination and microchipping.

Our Branch is run by volunteers, from their own homes. We do not have a central shelter or office. We cover postcode areas ML1 - ML11

Our main priorities are to:

Take in stray and unwanted cats and kittens and look after them

Rehome cats and kittens

Neuter cats and kittens to prevent unwanted litters and provide vouchers to help pay towards neutering www.cats.org.uk/what-we-do/neutering
