In memory of Bambi

Bambi was found outside a factory when he was 2, emaciated, starving and in very poor condition. I took him in, fed him up, and he blossomed into the most loving boy, full of character. He was such a happy little boy, loved his food, his garden, lying in the sun, and sneaking under the bedcovers with us. He became ill, at first we didn’t know what was wrong, he was off his food, over-grooming his belly, lethargic and withdrawn, we thought he was stressed. The vet took a blood test which showed he had pancreatitis, and was anaemic and dehydrated.  He was hospitalised the following day, given fluids, painkiller and antibiotics, but after a urine test, we found he had chronic kidney disease. He didn’t respond to the meds, and the vet very gently said she thought it was best if we let him go. We brought him home to spend his last night with us, I sat up with him all night. The next morning we took him back to the vets to say goodbye, the hardest thing. He’s left a massive gaping hole in our lives, we are heartbroken. We miss his little face, his antics, he was so loved. We will never forget you Baba, thankyou for coming into our lives 💔
