LeoMere & Gillingham

Looking for an especially understanding new owner is Leo who has been with the branch for a few months now and is proving quite a challenge to find a new home. He is a bit of a Jekyll & Hyde character – mostly loving, enjoying company and cuddling up on his fosterer’s lap – but when potential new owners have come to meet him he tries to nip them which understandably puts them off! It’s so sad that he reacts like this as generally he is an affectionate, people loving boy who desperately needs and deserves a lovely new home and family as much as any non-nibbly cats. Once he loves you he really loves you as you can see from his video. The other difficulty we have is that he suffers from occasional skin allergy flare ups so is on a restricted diet and phases of steroid tablet treatment (easily administered in food so no need to risk fingers in mouth!). We are therefore looking for an experienced owner who is happy to cope with his issues and is looking for one who likes things on his own terms. The biting may well be the result of him being in a pen and he may be completely different once settled in a new home - we find this can happen with quite a few cats – but he obviously cannot be homed with children and he isn't keen on other cats. Please can anyone help give Leo a happy New Year?
