Cats Protection awarded Outstanding Charity Retailer of the Year
30 July 2016
There was success for the Cats Protection retail team this week as they won two major awards at the Charity Retail Association Conference.
The awards aim to highlight the amazing work done by volunteers and shop staff in the charity retail sector, as well as the managers and teams that support them. Cats Protection was awarded Outstanding Charity Retailer of the Year, a prestigious award designed to recognise ‘leaders in the field’, as well as the Best Use of Digital Technology in Charity Retail.
The retail team had a particularly successful 2015, with many successful initiatives introduced last year. By introducing new branding and shop designs as well as establishing a number of flagship stores, the charity also demonstrated the highest percentage net profit growth in the charity retail sector.
The Best Use of Digital Technology award was in recognition for the innovative use of digital screens and tablets in many of the shops, enabling shoppers to engage with some of the charity’s great work, specifically neutering and re-homing.
Lorna Fallon, Retail and Trading Manager said: "It is wonderful to be recognised by such a prestigious organisation, which represents over 100 different charities, at this early stage of our retail strategy, demonstrating that our retail operation is successfully raising awareness of Cats Protection and what we do."
She added: "I would like to thank all of the retail team and shop staff, in particular our fantastic volunteers, and all of the central support teams that have worked with us behind the scenes to help bring our retail vision to life."
