What we do

The National Cat Adoption Centre is the UK's largest cat rehoming centre.

At any one time, we can look after up to 200 cats and kittens at our facility within the National Cat Centre, the head office of the Cats Protection charity.

Thanks to a team of dedicated staff and volunteers, we successfully find new homes for more than a thousand cats and kittens every year.

Our core aims are:
  • Homing - finding good homes for cats in need
  • Neutering - supporting and encouraging the neutering of cats
  • Education - improving people's understanding of cats and their care through education and advice

Cats in our care benefit from an onsite veterinary clinic (not open to the public) where cats are treated for any ailments and given a clean bill of health before rehoming.

All cats are neutered (if old enough), microchipped, vaccinated and vet checked before leaving the centre.

We are located within the National Cat Centre, the head quarters of the charity, Cats Protection.

Set in a stunning rural location, the site features a Visitor Centre, a cafe, shop and conference facilities.

We are open 10am-4pm, seven days a week (except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day).

Visitors are also welcome to enjoy our extensive grounds.

But we do much more than care for the cats and kittens in our care at the NCAC.

We believe in raising awareness of feline welfare as well as showing people how a life shared with a cat can be a better life.
