Love a good cat read? We're running a cat short story competition to find the best cat story writer out there.

Entries are £5 each, maximum of 1000 words sent online (sorry, due to Covid restrictions we cannot accept paper copies).
The competition will run until May 31st, so get writing and get your stories in before the deadline!

Judging will take place in June, and the winners announced and contacted just as soon as we've read them all.

Judges are looking for innovative and exciting stories that feature a cat or cats as the main subject

FIRST PRIZE is a full set of seven hardback 'Alfie' books kindly donated and signed by the Sunday Times bestselling author Rachel Wells. Seven great cat-filled adventures for any age! Rachel Wells is a mother, writer and cat lover. She lives in Devon with her family and her pets and believes in the magic of animals.  Second and third prizes - three hardback Alfie books, and one signed softback 'Alfie and George'.

Please ensure you put your name and contact details on your story and ensure the payment (by bank transfer only - please do not send cash or cheques to the centre) references the writers name, so that we can match payment to the story.  Put your best cat writing hat on; don't 'paws' for a minute!"
