Pets at Home stores help raise cash for the kitty

16 May 2016
Shoppers at stores across the UK will get the chance to help unwanted cats as part of a national fundraising weekend for Cats Protection, which is being run thanks to Support Adoption For Pets (SAFP) – the charity established and supported by Pets at Home.
The stores will be raising cash for the kitties between Friday 3 and Sunday 5 June to help the charity find homes for the thousands of unwanted cats in its care.
Simon’s Cat pin badges, the design kindly provided by creator Simon Tofield, will be on sale to raise funds for Cats Protection while customers can also donate 50 pence at the till towards the cost of a cat in its care and make further donations at the till.
This is the fourth time the fundraising weekend has been held by Pets At Home and it has raised over £121,000 nationally to help unwanted cats over three years.
Richard Howard, Cats Protection’s Corporate Partnerships Manager, said: “We’re delighted Support Adoption For Pets and Pets At Home have chosen to support us again with our fourth dedicated weekend. The last three weekends have raised a phenomenal amount for the charity and we’re hoping this year’s weekend will be equally, if not more, successful as every penny really does count. We’re also grateful to Simon Tofield for supporting our fundraising efforts by providing us with another of his Simon’s Cat designs.”
George Lingwood, Pets At Home’s Retail Operations Director, said: “We’re passionate about supporting good causes wherever possible and Cats Protection is no exception. We’re calling on all of our customers to please get behind us and help support this year’s three-day campaign.”
Simon Tofield, creator of Simon’s Cat said “‘We are pleased to again provide a pin badge design for the weekend and to support the event across Pets at Home stores”
