Recruitment Support Volunteer Opportunity - https://www.cats.org.uk/support-us/volunteeropportunities?id=6933

Ever thought about volunteering?

At Cats Protection we value and appreciate the contribution that volunteers provide and welcome every type of person to join us and give it a go. In 2014 we helped over 205,000 cats and kittens. The majority of these success stories are thanks to the dedication and hard work of 9,700 volunteers across the UK. Volunteering is not only worth while but also allows for you to explore your passions, contribute, give back and join a group of like minded individuals with an invested belief in helping cats and kittens.

North Bristol Branch welcome volunteers from all backgrounds who want to get involved in helping cats and kittens in the local area. If you identify with any of the following characteristics perhaps you are just the person we need and will make all the difference to the life of the cats in our care.

Are you a people person?
There are numerous opportunities with Cats Protection if interpersonal skills are your forte. If you are good with people, have a bubby personality, love to chat or perhaps you’re a terrific listener then you could be an ideal candidate for visiting the homes of prospective new cat owners. You could also help us at fundraising events. Alternatively, you could use those people skills to promote your group to the local press, or maybe even try your hand at giving talks to local community groups.

Do you love cats?
If you really want to get involved in the caring side of the cats and kittens, there are always several hand-on roles available. These range from taking care of them on a day-to-day basis, to transporting then to their new homes or the vet. Maybe you’re a lover of the great outdoors? If so, you could help with trapping ferals for our trap, neuter and release programme and combine your love of nature and cats to great effect!

Do you love to organise?
If your skills fall into the ‘well organised’ category, there are plenty of roles that will suit you within your local group. Whether you are best at managing people, paperwork or funds, your contribution will be highly valued. From keeping the admin in order to organising events to generate those much-needed funds and even establishing links within the local community, there is so much that you can do to help.

Are you a good communicator?
If you have strong communication skills – this may be face-to-face, over the phone, a bit of a social media wiz, a tech head, have a creative flair with the written word or want to spread the word online, we’d love to hear from you! From roles helping the general public with enquiries on your group helpline to writing regular newsletters or maintaining a website, there are plenty of ways in which you can help your local group to promote Cats Protection and its work in your area.

Please contact enquires@northbristol.cats.org if you are interested in volunteering with us.
