** Update – November quiz results. General consensus was ‘a great night and raised over £400!’ Seventeen teams took part and joint winners were 'Purrsuasion' and 'Catatonic'.

(and previously) ... For the first time ever, staff and volunteers at the Cats Protection shop in Erdington High Street have decided on a night of out-of-hours fun and fund-raising activity – by volunteering a team for the November quiz night.

CP charity shop Manager Anita Byers and assistant manager Bella Chalkia, along with volunteers Lesley Strickley and Angela Martin, are keen to do ‘even more for the cats than they do already’ by putting their heads together – and a quiz team - for the good ‘cat cause’. Certainly they say they hope to come up with all the right answers at the last pub quiz of 2017, which will be held at the popular pub the Digby on the Chester Road on Thursday, 9 November.
Says Anita: “It will be great to experience a quiz night and see how well we can do – we would be happy as the cats that got the cream if we won! But we’re not giving away just how brainy and knowledgeable (!) we are, or the name we’ve chosen for our team – all will be revealed on the night.”
Keen quizzers are welcome to pit their wits against the ‘Cats Pro’ shop team and all the loyal regular teams on Thursday night. Great raffle prizes are on offer and there’s always a welcoming atmosphere and now a refurbished pub setting - meals and drinks can be ordered and served by the friendly Digby staff. All proceeds from the event will go to help needy cats and kittens in North Birmingham.
