Cracking Cat Quiz is back in town ...

Monday night was Cat Quiz night at the Digby Pub – it was back with a November bang and raised the purrfectly respectable sum of £315 for cats and kitties in the care of North Birmingham Cats Protection.
The winning team members were well into Christmas spirit/panto season mode with their chosen name – Dick Whittington and his cats. And what canny cats they were too as, as one CP volunteer commented - ‘the winning team – now five-strong - has always supported the quiz, so it was great to see them do so well and notch-up their first ever win’.
The ‘Best Team name’ - A Room with a Mew – was chosen by the Erdington Cats Protection shop managers Anita and Gabriella. And what a team they made on the night too. They raised even more funds by selling their Christmassy shop goodies – calendars along with a seasonal variety of stocking fillers and cat-themed gifts.
Pictured are volunteers Sue, Jane and Lee; CP shop managers Gabriela and Anita and, of course, the winning team - Dick Whittington and his cats! Sixteen teams in total took part, and the consensus was ‘great to start up the quiz nights again – a fun night out’.
Joint coordinators Jane and Nicole put their heads together a while ago to get the quiz up and running again. Says Nicole: “This week saw the long-awaited return of our popular quiz night. A massive thank you to all the volunteers who made it happen by writing questions, compering, scoring, sourcing raffle prizes, ensuring publicity, taking photos and more. It was a great night and purrs go to everyone who helped raise funds for our feline friends.”
One of the organisers, Sue Morgan, pays tribute to the Digby staff. “Thanks to our hosts for donating two bottles of wine and a meal voucher for raffle prizes - and of course for welcoming us back. The night went really well. We do have room for even more teams, so it would be good to see all our old teams back on board and give the same warm welcome to new ones in 2019.”
