SqueakReservedOxford & District

Squeak, born 2008, is a soft, gentle cat. He needs a quiet home and a special person who will give him time to settle. Squeak (appropriately named!) is very timid. He has always lived with other cats and we think that a home with another cat, that would accept him, would be best. It would allow him to choose his times for communicating with his owner.

Squeak has been with a carer for a few weeks and is gaining confidence. He is in a room alone now, and is just visited periodically, and may do better where he is around a person more. He loves to be petted - and is very soft - and has a funny, trilling purr. He finds petting quite threatening though and doesn't want it for long. He flinches when you reach to pet him but is doing that less as he begins to trust us. We don't know if he has been maltreated at some stage. He needs that special cat-lover who will accept that it may take a long time to gain his confidence, has another cat that provides the needs of the owner, and has it in their heart to let Squeak be himself. His present fosterer is going on holiday in two weeks and we would love him to go to his new home before then. Otherwise it means at least 2 more moves in his life.
