JOEY (female)Oxford & District

Joey, born 2009, is a sweet cat that has has rather a difficult life. She had settled well in her current home but has become very distressed since her owner became pregnant! She is much loved but is clearly unhappy and her owner has asked us to find her a new home.
She is the sweetest, most affectionate cat when she is calm. She sleeps on the bed at night and likes to massage and lick the duvet a lot, which calms her. She will also suck people's clothing if they are on the bed! She is happy to be picked up and to have her nails clipped and is very vocal. Joey does lash out when she is upset and fearful, usually at the other cat in the house.

Joey would be a wonderful companion cat where there are no other cats or children and she can have a quiet life.

Joey came to CP last year after being an indoor cat all her life, with a single owner. During last year, she was left alone for long periods which was very boring and stressful. Unfortunately, she was in a pen for a couple of weeks before going to indoor fosterers and, understandably, was very stressed by that too. She relaxed a lot being with the fosterers and they came to love her dearly and were happy to see her go to a loving home in January.
Now poor Joey's life has turned up-side-down again and she is getting stressed. Her owner understands how difficult the pen was for her and will care for Joey until a new home turns up. This will be a DIRECT HOMING and will be an arrangement between the owner and the adopter. Contact us at Cats Protection if you would like to meet Joey. She is spayed, micro-chipped and vaccinated and her coat is in lovely condition.
