Ceilidh for Cats
15 April 2013
Music,
dance, food and prizes ...
On
Saturday 1st June there will be a Ceilidh at the Community Centre in Kirkham,
with all profits going to the Preston
Branch of Cats Protection. The admission
price of £9 includes a hot pot supper, including vegetarian &
vegan options, and there will be a raffle with lots of prizes. Local
businesses, most of whom are independent traders, in Kirkham and
Wesham have been very generous in donating prizes for the raffle.
There will,
of course, be tea, coffee, soft drinks and cakes available, but as
there isn’t a bar, if you wish to bring your own alcohol, please
feel free.
The
Music
The music and
caller will be provided by Sid Calderbank and his band. Sid has over
30 years of entertainment experience having played at many clubs and
art and folk festivals. He is a very patriotic Lancastrian, a member
of the Lancashire Society and his web site describes him as ‘the
mon for dialect and song’.
All in all
you’re in for a good nights entertainment and fun and hopefully we
will make a few bob for Cats Protection so that we can continue to
help cats, kittens and people in Preston and surrounding areas.
