Four adorable kittens ready for adoption
26 February 2020
This litter of adorable little ones was brought in to the branch’s care right on the cusp of the limits for socialisation. As a result they largely shunned human contact for a while. They still have some ‘outdoor cat’ tendencies (food literally vanishes before your eyes when you serve it to them) but 3 of the 4 have become proper little cuddle monsters and all are really adorable. They will climb anything, you can’t be too precious about your curtains with these 4. The boy, Patch, is the only exception to being a really sweet cuddly cat now, though he does like a cuddle on his terms. All the kittens will need experienced owners that will give them time to adjust. They're quite young so should adapt to other cats okay, but dogs may prove too much for them. They will need to be homed either with older children or adults and new owners will need to understand that it will take some time before you can really fuss them, but once they know you they will be amazing and very entertaining pets. They don’t like to be picked up and manhandled, but will come climb all over you and give you lots of affection on their own terms.
FreckleFreckle is the smallest of her family and the quietest. She loves to be cuddled up to you on your lap, in bed or even on an exercise bike (no really). She's also quite playful, probably the most balanced of the kittens, and she's learnt to play fetch with toy mice. She's called Freckle because she has a tiny little black freckle on her nose. We think she would happily be homed alone or with an another cat.
SmudgeWhat can you say about Smudge? Once she knows you she will be all over you all of the time. She's well known to lie on top of her sisters to get them to move and loves draping herself round your neck like a scarf. She's as playful as her brother and sisters, and she is an expert climber. If there's something she can climb, or thinks she can climb, she will, or fail in a very amusing way. She also has an excellent purr!
SmokeyNamed after the little wisp of smoke that comes up from her chops, this little girl is a bit of an adventurer. A little less people focussed than her two sisters, she does love a cuddle, but does like to find a tight little hole to climb into. If there's a cupboard open, she'll be in it, a box, she'll make it her new home, but when she wants company she's very cuddly, loves a lap and is one of the first in bed at night. Incidentally Smokey became famous on Instagram for getting stuck behind a towel rail after spooking herself on an escape attempt from the kitten room... Her rescue from the towel rail was a bit of a turning point in her realising she is not always the brightest, and humans aren’t so bad.
PatchA beautiful big boy, he's very playful, and probably the best climber of his family. He does enjoy a lap, and loves to be curled up on a bed, but cuddling has to be done on his terms. Whilst he will eventually come to you for cuddles, if what you want is a malleable lap cat, Patch is probably not for you. However, if you want a handsome, funny, independent, adventurous rascal, then please get in touch!
