How you will make a difference to cats and people:

By raising awareness of the activities and achievements of the branch through a regular newsletter for Cats Protection members, you will play an important role in keeping members in the know about the branch

What the role involves:

  • To be responsible for collecting and writing cat related stories plus information about the activities and achievements of your branch, to fill a quarterly 8 page Newsletter, which will be circulated to 148 members
  • To liaise with the Committee, and volunteers and, potentially, members of the public to source articles/pictures
  • To ensure that the newsletter covers all relevant information and that everyone gets their submissions in on time
  • To ensure that it promotes a positive and professional image of the charity, that the relevant permissions to use articles and photos have been sought and that content complies with Cats Protection policies and guidelines
  • To be responsible for organising the printing (local printing business) and distribution of the newsletter

Skills and experience required or could be developed in this role:

  • Good organisational skills
  • Creativity and excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good IT skills and ability to use basic desktop publishing software

Time expectation:
The members newsletter is published quarterly

There is also an option to create a 15 page online newsletter for our volunteers. This could be done by the same volunteer that edits the member’s newsletter or by a separate volunteer. The fundraising newsletter goes out twice yearly

You will receive full information about what is needed. Plus support from Committee members and volunteers who will submit articles for you to include in the newsletter
