Adoptions from St Neots Cats Protection

18 December 2012
We have been made aware that a local group is selling cats and advising people that they foster on behalf of St Neots Cats Protection. We would like to clarify that while we have previously supported some local groups with assistance for neutering as part of our free neutering campaign, we have never, and will never home cats through external groups or fosterers and have never received any funds from these sales.

We have very strict guidelines regarding the health and welfare of our cats and also where our cats can be homed. A Cats Protection cat will only be available by contacting one of the numbers or email addresses on the contact page of this website on the link here and we carry out a home visit as standard. All Cats Protection cats are health checked, neutered (when old enough), vaccinated, de-flead, wormed, micro-chipped and come with four weeks insurance. We have official Cats Protection headed paperwork and our adoption fee is £50 for one cat or kitten or £80 for a pair of cats or kittens. The majority of our cats are housed in specially built cat pens or occasionally with home fosterers but we do not mix cats for health reasons.

If you are sold a cat on behalf of Cats Protection and are offered anything different from the above then it is very likely you are not getting a Cats Protection cat and we would ask you to contact us please. We would also like to ask anyone who has been sold a cat in the past, which they were told was a Cats Protection cat, but now has doubts, to please contact us as a matter of urgency. Please either call 01480 476696 or email stneotscats@hotmail.com

Anyone implying that they foster cats on behalf of St Neots Cats Protection, but who is not officially approved, will be contacted by the legal department of our Head Office.
