Vet Charity Challenge: the results are in!

03 November 2014
Vet Charity Challenge: the results are in! It may have been the toughest event yet, but the teams that took part in last Saturday’s Vet Charity Challenge certainly rose to the part.
Spurred on by their commitment to raise funds for three very deserving animal charities (one of them being Cats Protection), 50 teams from the veterinary industry overcame a series of physical and mental challenges to see who would take the winner’s trophy. Challenges included walking/running, cycling, kayaking, orienteering and both mental and physical tasks. The title went to the BVC Bashers from Belmont Veterinary Centre in Hereford for the second year running. Congratulations to them!

The veterinary team here at Cats Protection bravely entered two teams and came 8th and 39th which is great.

Emily Billings, NCC Veterinary Officer says “We had a brilliant weekend at the Vet Charity Challenge, both teams did us proud completing over six hours of running, kayaking and mountain biking with a few extras such as bridge building and assault courses. Our fundraising page is still open so any last minute donations would be amazing to reward our efforts!”

If you would like to sponsor the teams you can do so by visiting Cats Protection’s Virgin Money Giving page.

A big thank you goes to the organisers and to all the teams that took part to raise money for Cats Protection, Hearing Dogs for the Deaf and SPANA. More photos of the event can be found at www.vetcharitychallenge.co.uk and you can also watch the video below.
