Fundraising Events Team Leader

As with all roles within the Swansea & District Branch this is a 100% volunteer role.  However, depending on the role, we do help towards expenses such as travel and stationery.

How you will make a difference to cats and people
As a Fundraising Events Team Leader you will play a key role in co-ordinating, motivating, recruiting and supporting local volunteers in raising much needed funds for the local branch.  Cats in our care rely on generous donations from people who love cats and count on volunteers like you to make those donations happen.  You will lead volunteers in a variety of fundraising events and activities raising much needed funds to help towards veterinary treatment, food, litter, boarding costs etc, etc
However much is raised by the Fundraising Team raise will make a REAL difference to the abandoned cats and kittens in the Swansea area

What the role involves

  • Supporting, recruiting and encouraging volunteers who want to participate in fundraising activities
  • Working alongside other volunteers to plan fundraising events and activities
  • Co-ordinating and delegating key tasks prior to and at fundraising events
  • Being responsible for funds raised and ensuring that they are accounted for and banked appropriately
  • Thinking of new ways to raise funds
  • Organising regular fundraising meetings
  • Maintaining records from fundraising events
  • Encouraging others to promote a positive and professional image of Swansea Cats Protection
  • Ensuring that fundraising events and activities comply with Cats protection policy and guidelines and that local licences and permits are obtained prior to the event

Skills and experience which are expected and /or can be developed in this role

  • Good organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and people management experience are important for this role
  • Experience of using your leadership skills to bring out the best in the Team
  • Ability to prioritise and delegate tasks
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels
  • Comfortable handling money
  • Knowledge of local community networks
  • Good level of record keeping/administration skills
  • Well organised and practical
  • Ability to bring out the best in others

Time expectation
This is a flexible role and the time involved will vary depending on the type and number of fundraising activities at any given time.  It is not unusual for Team Leaders to volunteer 8-10 hours a week
How you will be supported
Current volunteers would provide support and training in your role and would provide you with day to day support, guidance and direction.  We would work together to ensure you have a positive volunteering experience.
