Adopt a cat

WE HAVE RECENTLY HAD PROBLEMS WITH OUR ONLINE ADOPTION FORMS. IF YOU HAVE ENQUIRED FOR A CAT AND NOT HEARD FROM US, PLEASE PHONE 03453 712723 OR 07392864156
OR email enquiries@teignbridge.cats.org.uk

All the cats that come into our care are given a medical check. They are vaccinated, microchipped, neutered (if needed) and given flea and worm treatment before we rehome them. They also come with one month's free insurance provided by Petplan.

OUR GUIDE TO ADOPTING A CAT
It's just four easy steps which can be completed quickly.

1) Enquire. If you’ve found a cat on our website that you’re interested in adopting, you can click on the "contact us about this cat" button below the cat's description. Or you can phone 07392864156 or 03453 712723 or email enquiries@teignbridge.cats.org.uk

2)
Reserve your cat. If you’re found to be a match for your chosen cat, you’ll be contacted via phone or email. You may be asked for photos of your house and garden.

  3) Adopt. You’ll be sent paperwork (ideally via email) to sign and have a chance to discuss everything you need to know about your cat. You’ll then pay an adoption fee of £85 for a cat. There's an additional charge of £20 for kittens under six months. The payment is usually by bank transfer.

 4) Bringing your cat home. We may be able to arrange for a driver to bring your cat safely to your home, or you may be able to collect the cat from us. If you require delivery, but live more than 20 miles away from us, we'd be grateful for a donation towards petrol.

Post-adoption support. You’ll receive follow-up calls or emails around three, seven and 21 days after the adoption, to check that your new arrival's settled in. You can also find help and advice on the Cats Protection website at www.cats.org.uk/advice
