Telford and District Branch is run solely by volunteers who work to help cats in a variety of ways. We welcome volunteers with open arms, whether you are young or old, male or female, there's a place for you with us. As well as having the satisfaction of knowing you are working for a good cause, our volunteers also have the opportunity to learn new skills and work with like-minded people.
Not all our volunteer roles require you to have contact with our cats. There are lots of ways that you can get involved in supporting the charity, from a few hours on an occasional weekend collecting at a tin shake, helping in our shop, ‘behind the scenes’ work or even fostering. Most of our roles have flexible hours and can be fitted around your paid jobs and other commitments. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference to cats and kittens in Telford and the surrounding areas.
- You will be able to develop new skills, expand your knowledge and use your existing expertise
- You will meet new people, make new friendships and work as part of a dedicated team
- You will become a key member in the UK’s largest feline charity
Donating your time and skills will make a huge difference to every cat in our care, so please have a look at our volunteering opportunities and let us know if you are interested in volunteering with the Telford & District branch. We would be very pleased to hear from you.

We are currently looking to recruit the following volunteer roles:
At Cats Protection we help thousands of cats each year thanks to our dedicated and passionate volunteer groups and teams, all of which help our feline friends in a different ways. They take in stray and abandoned cats and ensure they receive the veterinary care and attention they deserve, help raise funds, promote neutering and help spread cat welfare messages. Our volunteer treasurers maintain the finances of local groups and teams, ensuring they hold the funds needed to continue their vital work. Cats Protection relies solely on donations from generous members of the public, and our volunteer treasurers help make sure these funds are spent in the most effective way.
