Update on our 2018 Free Neutering Campaign 2018 Neutering Campaign Update

In 2018 we undertook a Free’ Neutering campaign covering the Trafford postcode area. The campaign ran from 01/08/2018 -to- 31/10/2018, with 3 neutering campaign hotlines available for people to ring up and register their cat / kitten for neutering.

The campaign offered free neutering, together with microchipping, flea and worm treatment.

The service was offered free of charge through local legacies, donations and volunteers.

5 designated veterinary practices were utilised for the campaign.

Over 500 calls were received to the neutering campaign hotlines.

Here is a summary of the campaign results:

  • 415 cats & kittens neutered

  • (175 cats & 240 kittens)

  • 168 males

  • (67 cats & 101 kittens)

  • 247 females

  • (108 cats & 139 kittens)

  • 301 households helped

  • 370 cats & kittens microchipped

  • (31 already chipped & 14 no microchip wanted)

Thanks once again to everyone involved in running the campaign - our volunteers and the vets - Buchananvets (Timperley), Ashleigh Vets (Sale & Chorlton) and Vets 4 Pets (Altrincham & Trafford Park).

What a fabulous result!!! Plans are already being formulated for a further neutering campaign in 2019.
