Virgin London Marathon

Event Overview

The world’s most iconic and largest marathon is back! We are very pleased to be able to offer Cats Protection supporters the chance to run in the 2016 event and raise vital funds.

We only have seven gold bond places and therefore take applications from people wishing to run on behalf of Cats Protection. You can of course nominate a local branch or centre to support.

After we confirm whether you have been accepted for a place, we will ask you to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £50 and pledge to raise a minimum of £1,750.

We will provide you with full support and ideas to ensure you feel confident in raising the required minimum. We understand the commitment, courage and thought that goes into participating in a challenge event on behalf of Cats Protection and promise we will do our very best to give you all the help and support you need to have a successful challenge and raise lots of much needed funds to help us care for cats and kittens.

Yay, we did it for the cats! I will go home and give my two cats a hug.

Well done everyone! It was an awesome experience. I loved every minute.

Great day yesterday and pleased to raise some money for a great charity and all those little kitties. Happy at crossing the line in 3 hours 31 minutes. Hope others did good times and are feeling happy about their results. Thanks Rebecca for your support and help during the fundraising!

So many people shouted to me to do it for the cats. It was amazing!

I'm feeling achey today - seems to be a recurring theme. My week long headache has gone finally - woohoo! Although the aches have definitely replaced it. We wandered around the finishing area last night after getting some food, and eventually decided we couldn't face walking any more so got a taxi for the half mile back. The taxi driver got chatting and didn't charge us - instead asking me to donate it to the charity!

Well done everyone, and thank you Rebecca and the rest of the supporters for the support.
