Remembering us in your will

Leave a Gift in your Will
By leaving a gift in your will you can help change the lives of thousands of cats and kittens for years to come. Without
the kindness of people who remember Cats Protection in their wills we would not be the charity we are today. These
special gifts fund more than half of everything we do. Charitable gifts in wills are vital for continuing our work to help
unwanted cats and kittens.

Research from 'Remember A Charity' has shown that although 74% of the UK population support charities during
their lifetime, only 7% of people donate to charities in their will once their family and friends have been provided for.
By leaving a gift in your will, you will be helping us keep the special promise that underpins all of our vital work: that
we will never put a healthy cat to sleep.

With a gift of £500 you could feed 400 cats for a week By leaving £3,000 you could shelter unwanted cats for years
to come in a new foster pen £10,000 left in your will could rescue strays and take poorly cats to the vets in a specially
equipped Cats Protection van. A gift of £15,000 could neuter 500 cats, preventing thousands of unwanted kittens being
born. A larger gift could fund the opening of a new adoption centre, the set up of a new branch or the opening of a new
shop to raise even more funds.

How to remember Anglia Coastal Cats Protection in your will

While many individuals who remember Cats Protection in their will leave their gift to the charity as a whole, we know
that supporters involved with our local branches may wish to remember their specific branch or adoption centre, or
even leave their gift for the benefit of their local area.

If you would like to leave a gift to the Anglia Coastal branch of Cats Protection; the following wording will assist your
solicitor in drawing up or amending your will:

I give to Cats Protection, National Cat Centre, Chelwood Gate, Haywards Heath RH17 7TT, Registered charity
number 203644 (England and Wales) and SC037711 (Scotland), the sum of ……. and I express the wish but
without creating a binding legal obligation that the legacy be used for the benefit of the Anglia Coastal branch
and the receipt of the proper officer of the charity shall be sufficient discharge for my Trustees.

you love should something happen to you. If this is something that concerns you, you may wish to consider
registering with our Cat Guardians service. If you register to this service, and include a clause in your will about
these arrangements, then we promise to care for your cat(s) in the event of your death and find them a loving
new home.
