Success Stories 2015

I've always loved animals and especially dogs preferably greyhounds and lurchers. I missed having dogs after my two died but I found walking rescue greyhounds most enjoyable. However after I became ill with vasculitis I was unable to commit to walking dogs and looked around for an alternative. I decided on an indoor cat and started looking around on websites to see what was available. I didn't see anything that appealed to me until one day I saw on the cat protection website a picture of Monty. It was love at first sight. Monty is 12 years old and has a kidney dysfunction. When I met him he was very quiet and laid-back and just wanted to be stroked. I thought he would suit me perfectly.

Eventually Monty came to stay with me and everything was fine for the first week. Then one day I was out getting the bin when he nipped out behind me and disappeared into next doors garden. I was so worried he was away for an hour. I decided to go and see a neighbour who has cats in case someone had found him and taken him to her. When I returned home he was sitting inside the front room window! Now he loves to go out even just to sit on the back step in the sunshine and then if I have gone back to bed he sits outside the bedroom window asking to come in.

He has a good appetite and eats his own food but he does like to steal chicken off my plate if I look away for a second! He thinks that he should be the centre of my attention and comes between me and my phone or sits on the computer keyboard.

Very sadly, Monty died in July 2015. RIP Monty.

Oscar is thriving, such a sweet cat but very lazy - I spend more time running after his toys than he does!

Harvey has settled in very easily. It must have been your doing. He is a very friendly little kitten with no fear. He just flies across the old dog and by the time the dog has registered anything, Harvey has gone!! He does not like flies and has knocked down a few things on the window sill to get the pesky little fly. He is a very happy, cheeky little kitten and sleeps between my husband and I!!

A huge thank you from us for our new addition. After meeting Lilli at The Mill House cattery we instantly fell in love with her and knew we could offer her a wonderful home. We were made aware of her epilepsy & that was not going to deter us from adopting her. From the second she moved into her new abode she fitted straight in with the family and made herself at home. So again a massive thank you to all the team and keep up the good work making families like ours become ever happier.

Just a quick post to show you how well Milo has adjusted to his new home. He has only been here for three days but already has a favourite place to sleep! (He has been renamed O'Malley after the Disney cat!)
