Adopt a cat

Please take a look at the cats and kittens who are currently looking for their forever home. Cats and kittens come in to our care on a regular basis, so there may be cats seeking a new home who are not yet on the gallery.

All adoptions are subject to a home check.

Our adoption fee is £85 for a cat over 6 months and £105 for a cat under 6 months

This fee helps us to pay for the care of them while we’re looking after him or her and the following:

  • Vet-checked
  • Tested for FIV and FeLV (if necessary)
  • Treated for fleas and worms
  • Vaccinations
  • Microchip (if necessary)
  • Neutered (or a voucher provided for free neutering when they are old enough)
  • Insured (4 weeks free insurance)

The Homing Process

  • Enquire - If you’ve found a cat on our website that you’re interested in homing, please complete the web form which can be found on your chosen cats page.

  • We don't maintain a waiting list, but if you check out our Facebook page, you'll see posts of cats that we have in care that are not ready for adoption yet.
  • Homing Visit - One of our dedicated homing volunteers will be in touch to do a virtual visit (via video or telephone call) to help us match you with the perfect cat! You will be asked for the consent of your landlord (if you live in a rented property).

  • Fosterer Chat and virtual visit - If there’s a cat we think would make a perfect addition to your family, you can get in touch with the fosterer looking after that cat to have a chat about the cat and if possible send you more photo's and videos.

  • Adopt - Once you have reserved your cat, you’ll be sent paperwork letting you know the next steps. You’ll then need to pay an adoption fee by bank transfer.

  • Bringing your cat home - Once all of this is finalised, you'll be able to collect your cat.

  • You can also find help and advice on the Cats Protection website at www.cats.org.uk/advice

Alternative Homing

We also have cats which you can adopt in our 'Alternative Homing' page.
This generally happens when owners want to give their cat to new owners with minimal help from Cats Protection. Please visit https://www.cats.org.uk/wolverhampton/adopt-a-cat/alternative-homing if you are interested.
