National Black Cat Day - Share your black cat snaps on Instagram

15 September 2013
National Black Cat Day - Share your black cat snaps on Instagram Cats Protection is inviting owners of black and black-and-white cats to share photos of their pets on image-sharing site Instagram.

As it gears up for National Black Cat Day on 31 October, the charity wants people to celebrate black and black-and-white cats by uploading their smartphone images with the hashtag #CPBlackCats.

The promotion will run from 12 to 30 September 2013. Cats Protection will pick the best images to use in future promotional material, which will be displayed in shopping centres and shop windows around the UK.

Terms and conditions apply, for more details see www.cats.org.uk/black-cats

National Black Cat Day is Cats Protection’s annual celebration of black and black-and-white felines.

Around half of the cats in our care across the UK are black or black and white. While we’re not sure why monochrome mogs can take longer to be adopted than cats of other colours, we’re certain of one thing – that they make lovely pets!

This year’s celebration will involve lots more activity on social media. Check our Facebook page www.facebook.com/catsprotection or Twitter account @CatsProtection to keep ahead of all the information as it breaks!

Last year’s National Black Cat Day reached more than 330,000 people on social media, and we think that this year’s event will be even more popular.

And if you’re thinking of adopting a cat, why not consider a black or black-and-white one? Find your perfect new pet through the Find-a-Cat tool on our homepage www.cats.org.uk
