Super injunction cat is revealed on Twitter

A particularly promiscuous cat whose identity was protected by a feline super-injunction has been revealed on Twitter.

The cat in question is a tabby-and-white cat known as ‘Randy’ Victor (picture attached).

Last week Cats Protection set up the first ever feline super-injunction in a bid to protect the identity of Victor, who is suspected of having affairs with a number of female cats resulting in the birth of numerous love kittens.

As Victor is now a neutered, reformed character the charity was hoping he would remain anonymous but those hopes have been ended.

Joel Scott, Deputy Manager of Cats Protection’s National Cat Adoption Centre in Chelwood Gate, Sussex said: “We were hoping the super-injunction would protect Victor from tabloid attention but of course super-injunctions do not cover social networking sites like Twitter so his identity has been revealed.”

Victor is hoping to put the whole business behind him and Cats Protection says that will be best achieved by finding him a new home where he can seek cover from the glare of publicity.

Joel said: “Victor is quite a timid character but is friendly once he gets to know you. He’d be best suited to a family home where there are older children and a garden to explore.”

Joel also urged owners to neuter their cats: “Each year Cats Protection cares for 5,700 unwanted kittens across its 256 volunteer-run branches and 30 Adoption Centres at a cost of £1.9 million, so neutering your cat will reduce the number of unwanted kittens that charities like Cats Protection look after. It will also benefit your cat’s health, given that neutered cats are less likely to fight and pass on feline diseases through bites and saliva.”

If you live in the Sussex area, and would like to adopt Victor, please call 08707 708 650.

To adopt any of the other 7,000 cats being looked after by Cats Protection please go to www.cats.org.uk/find-us for details of your local branch or centre.
