Douglas Wood - Regional Safety, Health & Environmental Officer

“I love the variety my role brings – one day I could be working with a homing centre delivering health and safety training to a group of employees and volunteers (and meeting the cats), to the next day working on a large scale project with other teams anywhere in the country! Everyone is also really friendly and accepting of individual roles within the organisation. “Cats protection gave me all the relevant information for my role electronically; from the induction programme to Teams meetings with my line manager, to discussing my role and responsibilities and the role I play within CP.”

Stella Steele, Area Branch Development Manager

“I am honoured to work with such a fantastic group of people across all the departments of Cats Protection and the volunteers are remarkable.” When I first started “I had inductions with every department of CP, many informal introductions via teams and emails from lots of people welcoming me to the organisation – it was wonderful and I felt involved, part of the team very quickly and really welcome from day one. In my role I have the privilege of working directly with our branch volunteers across the North West and have met some incredibly passionate, knowledgeable and experienced people who put the care of cats at the heart of everything they do.” “This is the first organisation where the head of retail has made the effort to engage with me and has personally thanked me on many occasions for my hard work. They are all approachable and we really are one big team. I will always be grateful to Cats Protection for giving me the chance to work for such an amazing organisation!”

Lizanne Frawley – Learning and Development Specialist

“My role supports the people who use their talents and skills to create the impact for cats. My favourite thing is when someone says they have had a ‘lightbulb’ moment on one of our courses. It’s re-motivating every time in knowing they have an impact. It’s my purrfect job because it matters.”

Helen Waterman – IT Project & Documentation Officer

“My role provides Cats Protection employees with technology to improve their IT processes, ultimately giving them time back for the cats. My favourite thing about the role is knowing that the work I do in IT helps employees provide a more effective and efficient service to Cats Protection customers/adopters and suppliers, allowing more time to be focused on the cats in our care.”
