Lost and Found

Norwich and District Cats Protection runs a lost and found service to help reunite missing kitties with their families.

Lost your cat?

If you have lost your cat, please email cp.lostandfound@yahoo.co.uk; include the following information in your message:

  • Your name
  • Contact information (phone number and/or email address)
  • A description of the cat, including its age, sex, size, coat colour and any distinguishing features
  • Where and when the cat was last seen

Please include a recent picture of the cat if possible as it is much easier to identify a cat from a picture than a text description.

If you have lost a cat, ring round all the vets in your area, put up notices in local shops and around your neighbourhood, and ask your neighbours to check their sheds. If the cat is microchipped, contact the chip company to report it missing and to make sure your contact details are correct.

Found a cat?

If you find a sick or injured cat or young kitten please call the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999. Cats Protection cannot always respond to calls within 24 hours.

Found cats can be reported by email to cp.lostandfound@yahoo.co.uk; please include your contact details, a description of the cat, and the location where it was found. If you can take some pictures of it and include them, that would be extremely helpful.
If possible, get it to a vet and get it checked for  a microchip. If it is not chipped get the vet to check the sex and approximate age.

If you have a cat in your garden that appears to be a stray, the best thing you can do is report it to us, but leave it alone unless it is sick or injured, pregnant, or with young kittens. Many of these cats have homes, but if you feed them or allow them in, they will keep coming back!

Please also contact us if you think you recognize any of the "found" cats in our listings.
