Adopt via our Direct Homing Scheme

The North Birmingham Cats Protection Direct Rehoming Service is here to help cat-owners, cat carers and cat finders to rehome cats in need directly to new forever homes. Year on year, this scheme continues to successfully rehome cats from across North Birmingham and beyond.

Sadly, as a small local branch we are not able to take in every cat that needs a new home. For those looking to rehome their cats, we recommend asking friends, family, neighbours and work colleagues if they would like to adopt, calling the Cats Protection Adoption Centre on 01564 822020 to see if there are places available, or using our Direct Homing Scheme.

To add a cat in your care to this webpage, please email a full description of the cat (including age, health status, neuter/vaccination/microchip status and a bit about their personality and what type of home they would suit) along with a few good quality photos and your contact details to coordinator@northbirmingham.cats.org.uk

This is referred to as a 'private adoption' as it is up to the potential adopter to liaise directly with the current carer to decide if the cat is suited to its possible new home. Equally, it is up to the current carer to decide whether the potential adopter will provide a good home, properly care for the cat, and keep the cat indoors in its new home for at least six weeks. The current carer continues to look after the cat until an adoption takes place.

We feature the cat on our website and give brief details as provided by the current owner, but we make no claim to accurate knowledge of the cat, its health, vaccination status, whether it is neutered, micro-chipped, etc.

**Please note CP would expect ALL cats offered for adoption/rehoming to be neutered. Please ensure this is the case and, if on a low income or certain benefits, the '£5 to neuter your cat' scheme can be used. Call 0300 0121212 for details of participating vets in your area**

Cats featured will stay on the site until we are told that they have been rehomed or other arrangements made. Those who use the scheme need to let us know as soon as their cat has been rehomed so that the details can be removed from the website - otherwise they may well continue to receive unwanted calls.

There are no adoption fees for the Direct Homing Scheme but either party may choose to make a donation to the branch if they wish, which is always much appreciated.

CAN COKEY COME HOME WITH YOU?

Cokey is a sweet, loving cat who is approximately 4 years old. After being abandoned by her original owners, she has some trust issues but once she gets to know someone, she loves to be fussed. Cokey’s favourite activities include standing right next to your legs when you are cooking, finding the fluffiest pillow to make biscuits on, and playing with her favourite mouse toy.

Cokey is in good health but will need her latest vaccinations. It is unclear whether or not she has been spayed, so this will need to be confirmed by a vet. Cokey would like a home with a secure garden - she likes to sit in the sun but prefers for the door to be left open. Cokey may be able to live with another pet at some point but would do best as the only pet for now, and would not suit a home with small children.

Due to a change in living arrangement, the current owners are looking to rehome Cokey from the B24 area. She would come with her blanket, toys, scratcher, litter box and carrier. To arrange a viewing, please contact Paulina on 07832165129 (text first).

SHYLA AND SHELBY ARE SEARCHING FOR SOMEWHERE TO CALL HOME

Tabby female cat Shyla is estimated around 2 years old and is the mother of mixed coloured tabby & white baby boy Shelby who is estimated around 1 year old. Both cats are in good health, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date with their flea and worm treatment.

Sonia their carer says, "Both mother and son have such a sweet bond and their love for each other melts your heart. Shyla is an affectionate cat that adapts to children too once she gets to know you. Shelby on the other hand can be a bit shy and nervous - he builds his trust and confidence through his mother and once he gets to know you his such a cuddle bug. They are very independent, play, eat and sleep together and very good with routine without a fuss. Both know how to use the litter box and not fussy when it comes to food."

Shelby and Shyla are looking for a calm house with no other pets.

To meet this perfect duo, please contact Sonia on 07512423427. Viewing will be held in Handsworth, B21.

MUM LOFI AND SON BOBBY NEED TO FIND THEIR FOREVER FAMILY

Beautiful Lofi would like to be rehomed together with her extraordinary little son Bobby. Lofi and Bobby are gentle souls who need a new home as they are currently living in a temporary accommodation.

Current carer Sophie says: “Lofi is approx. 1 year old and a very friendly, sweet and calm girl who loves to be stroked. She was rescued from the street when pregnant. She loves attention and being pampered; she enjoys relaxing and often expresses her happiness by purring. Lofi’s son Bobby was born on 26th June and he is a playful young kitten who loves human company. Bobby also likes to explore everything around him and chase his toys.”

Lofi and Bobby are both tabby and white mid-long hair and in very good health. They have been neutered and microchipped, and are up-to-date with their flea and worm treatments. They are currently indoor cats but would appreciate outdoor access to a garden once they are settled. Lofi and Bobby would be suitable with older children or adults only and would need to be the only animals in the house. They would be rehomed with their beds, carriers, bowls, toys, toilet and other accessories as required and preferred by new owner.

To enquire about Lofi and Bobby in Birmingham, call Sophie on 07387436770 (please text first).
